An appealing article by Blain Smith on about why using Go. I don’t particularly care for the grotesque language, but I like some of the arguments. Having a language which is designed for performance, comes with dev tool sets and can be compiled? Of course there are other languages which can do the same and don’t suffer from the endless nil validation, but this was a design choice on purpose.
